Happies and Grossies

Happy's?  Happies?  Whatever.

  • Firstly, my math test was bumped to Thursday rather than the Tuesday after coming back from break.  That's good news because I did zero homework while out of school.  Luckily, yesterday was a free day and I dragged my butt into class to get a full hour of help from my professor, and I feel quite confident that I will 'B-ce' (my kind of 'Ace') my math test.
  • I gave my two weeks notice at Curves last week and now I only have two more days of working there.  I'm ready to move on, it was short lived but I'm excited to become more busy at my new job.
  • Jody woke me up this morning waving two blurry boxes in front of my face.   Girl Scout Cookies!  I had resisted against all humanly urges to by some myself, and I still ended up waking up to thin mints and samoas.  The good news:  Jody had already eaten all but TWO of the samoas, and I'm thinking St. Patrick's day is calling for some green thin mint milkshakes or grasshopper pie...wouldn't you agree?
  •  My friend's husband just came home from a seven month deployment a few days ago and surprised her while out to dinner.  I'm very excited for her to have her fella back, and I know Jody can't wait to hang out with his buddy again.
  • Ma Sky, J Sky, and J Dub will be gracing VA with their presence in less than five weeks!  Not that I"m counting or anything.  I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  I. Can. Not. Wait.
  • I've more than passed the half way mark for school. I CAN do it!  I think.  Oy.
Grossies.
  • Shadow.  Pretend I'm saying that in my lowest, meanest, I'm-going-to-kill-you-voice.  The dang dog has now finished his peeing spells downstairs and has moved upstairs.  May as well hit the entire house, right?  Yesterday, he peed all over our bedroom floor, took a crap, and puked.  In his defense, he made it outside for the puke, at least.  But he's grossing me out and pissing me off.  Literally.  I also can't seem to keep him off of the couch.  Any brilliant ideas?  I understand accidents now and then since he's stuck inside a lot while we're not home, but for heaven's sake.  Please let me in on any tidbits you may have.
  • Jody has duty this Saturday.  Saturday duty's are no good.  He has to wake up super early on Saturday morning, work all day and night, and then he typically comes home completely exhausted and ready to sleep all day on Sunday.  Which annoys me for no good reason.  Oh well, though!  If those are my only two 'grossies' I'd say I have it pretty dang good.

Mouse traps on the couch. Set them, they scare the bejesus out of him a few times, and then you don't have to set them any longer.

But I'm not the Dog Whisperer. He probably has a brilliant way to turn out well-trained dogs. I'm not nearly patient enough and would probably resort to spanking and praying. Might not be effective with a dog.

Plastic tablecloths on the furniture, while you are away. He probably won't like the crinkley noise it makes, and if he has an "accident" it wont go on your furniture. You can buy those at at Party America or dollar store. if you can find one in VA. Also, sometimes animals make messes because they are mad at you for leaving them. Shelleys cats would do that when she left town.

Maybe you could craft a "mess catcher" that straps around his tail or belly and just captures anything that escapes his body. Or, you can pick up a can of Vapoorize :)
But seriously, we usually just threaten to sell Maddox and he usually shapes up.

I like the "mess catcher" idea. Do you have any friends with dogs that would let Shadow come over for a play date? I think he just needs some attention and this is his way of acting out. I'm happy when your happies outnumber your grossies! Love you!
