This summer I will have the pleasure (hopefully) of spending my days with two school aged kiddos.  Beginning next week, I'll be with them from 6-4 Monday through Friday, becoming a full time 'nanny'.  I'm both excited and nervous, but mostly excited.  I feel really blessed to have found a great christian family with well discliplined children who were in need of some big help this summer, and I was just the girl to do it!  For the last week I've been taking the kids to school and just starting to get to know them until we start the real deal, all day thing.  They're smart little suckers and I think they're going to be a lot of fun this summer.  The only nervousness that keeps ticking away is the idea of getting up at 5am every day and still mustering energy and happy moods for the kids, but I think I can do it.

What this means is that I won't be doing any training this summer.  I had hoped to continue working at Fitness Together but unfortunately my job was much too unpredictable for us.  Appointments were often cancelled or sprung up on me, and there were several weeks when I had no work at all.  Not cool.  So, once again I did away with one job and replaced it with another.  I don't know how long I'm going to keep doing this, but I just can't quite get settled.

Settled or not,  I've been thoroughly enjoying this fantastic Virginia weather!  Seventies, (humid, humid, humid!) but not too hot (other than the humidity humidity humidity!) with a nice breeze.  I've gone to the beach several times with a just myself, my ipod and a good book.  Yesterday I came home looking like a racoon from falling asleep in my sunglasses in the hot sand.  Oopsies.  Don't worry, Jody made fun of me plenty so you don't need to

Jody also turned 22 on Friday!  He claims to not be much into birthdays, which is completely unacceptable to this Birthday-lover, so I had a hard time trying to think of ways we could celebrate.  We ended up just having dinner and drinks at the Pub with friends and then headed over to a friends house for the remainder of the evening.  It was nice, and I think the Birthday Boy had fun.

Not much else to report, I just felt like I should update MY blog since those of you with more interesting lives refuse to do so...

Come on, people!

I am so jealous of your beach time. The sand on Smellmo (not to mention the WATER) does not even begin to compare to the soft grains on which you get to rest your tush! Also I'm proud of you for driving there by yourself! Nannying should be interesting and good for you! Don't worry - the kids won't be truly awake until 7 anyway, so you you should get an hour or so of quiet time. If you need ideas to keep them busy, let me know! Congrats on the new job and happy birthday to Jody!
