Phew- What a week!

About my little tummy malfunction:
  • I lived to tell the tale!
Alright, it wasn't nearly that dramatic- but in my defense I did get knocked out and sliced up for a couple hours last week.  Which. Is. Awesome.
Last Thursday I started having some really bad stomach pains as I was going to bed.  They progressively got worse and worse and then much worse until I was crying my poor lonely little eyes out.  (Yeah, feel bad for me- Jody was on duty)  Since I knew Jody would be up all night working, I ended up calling him around one in the morning to let him know he needed to take me to the ER as soon as he got off watch- it was bad.  After I got him nice and worried, the vomiting began.  Oh, the vomiting.  It was gross.   But I was sick, man.
You're allowed to say man after a sentence if you really really mean it.
Anyway, long story short- he picked me up around 7:00 am, I hobbled to the hospital, grossed out the front desk lady by my barf breath, grossed out the nurse by my greasy hair and dirty jammie's, got poked seven hundred million times (apparently I'm the only human alive with no veins.  Cool for me.)  Received a good dose of unhealthy radiation, got high off of morphine (not so bad) and went under the knife.  Holla for that day.
They figured it was my appendix, but while they were in there they discovered my organs are weirdos.  Read Janelle's blog- I don't remember everything they told me because I was still floating when they talked to me post-surgery.  All I know is it hurt reeel bad, and now it doesn't.  Sounds good.

Thanks for your prayers, cards, flowers and phone calls!  It was nice being worried about, and I was very spoiled.

Hey- I love flowers.  We've had quite a few bouquets passing through here lately.  Since I love flowers so much, I'll let you see mine.
You're welcome.

Birthday tulips from Casey.  They came with a pretty pink vase that I'm now using upstairs on my desk.  Me Gusta.
These were from Danielle, who came over and watched movies with me while I was bored, and still borderline goofy off of my lovely pain meds.  She also gave Jody a break from dealing with me and sent him off to watch some football with a buddy.  Thanks Danielle!
How many of you get to wake up to a hot dude in a Griz sweatshirt holding flowers like these for you?  Psh- probably none!  Lucky me.

Obviously, I've been laying around a lot this week.  Things got gross around here.  I can't really say I did any laundry or dishes or vacuuming for an entire week, so whatever Jody didn't get done, um, just sat around.  You wouldn't think two people could be so messy, and maybe we're not all that messy, but I have a new found liking to cleanliness.  That's right.  Turns out you can't judge a person by their high school bedroom.  Anyway, since I've been feeling better, I started cleaning up shop yesterday after school.  I reorganized my 'corner' upstairs and actually used it to catch up on some homework.  Did 79 loads of laundry (yeah- 79.)  and I also fixed the chair that I had recently (haphazardly for lack of a staple gun or anything like it) reupholstered, and today I baked a German Chocolate cake.  In the shape of a heart.  Yeah, I went there.  You're jealous, I know.  Take a look.
This is where the magic happens.
Jenn got me a gift card to Hobby Lobby for Christmas so I used it to buy some cute fabric to fix up this nasty chair I got at Ollie's.  Turned out quite nicely, I think.
See that thing in the far right corner over there?  That's called a backpack.  People use it to carry their homework.  Huh.  I always used it to carry my lunch.
Finally.  Deliciousness.  That's German chocolate that you're looking at.  I guess it's more of a cupcake rather than a cake, but you get it.  I was put on a liquid diet for three days, people- I have to catch up!!
That statement was totally worthy of two exclamation points.

Until next time!

Why are there two forks that teeny tiny cake? That's a one man cake if I've ever seen one! Glad you are ok, girl. We all wish we could be there for you more as you power through your first year of college and marriage and apparently surgery. I love you girl!

Thanks for the update, and I am glad that you are feeling better. It is nice to know that you can't judge a person by his or her cleanliness in high school. That is very encouraging. Give Jody a hug from me, and remember you did have surgery so take it easy on yourself. Love you.
