You dropped a bomb on me.

If you haven't yet smiled today, watch this.  It's my new favorite song, and I've been blasting it in my little Mazda with the windows rolled down and a stupid grin on my face every day for the past week.  As if that wasn't great enough, I looked up the video this morning.  Oh, lordy!  Jenn Schuyler is going to love this one.

Well, here's what's up with us:

  • Jody is still busy busy busy with work and school.  Not that any of you care or understand what I'm talking about (I hardly do) but Jody's boat has now moved from the yards and back onto base, which means a lot of extra working hours for now, but hopefully a slow down in the near future.  Luckily for us, Jody was rewarded a much needed couple of days off last week, and there are rumors of next Monday being a day off as well.
  • Since Jody had last Monday off, I lucked out and had a second Valentine's celebration.  I got off work around 8 and came home to some tasty seafood appetizers (shrimp with cocktail sauce, crab dunked in hot, drippy butter- yes, I said hot and drippy.) yummy wine, dunkin' donuts ice cream, and chocolate covered strawberries.  Oh.  Yeah.  We spent the night eating, drinking, giggling, dancing, drinking, talking, drinking, you get the point.  It was lovely and just what we needed.  That guy cracks me up, and I love him.  Aww.
  • I am also remaining very busy, and so far, I prefer it that way.  I'm juggling school full time (Spring break is almost here!!) working at Curves, and just recently I am starting a probationary period at a Personal Training Studio in Norfolk.  I'm very nervous and even more excited about this one.  Today I start the first of a several days of being trained by the personal trainers working there already.  After each of them trains me, I'll turn around and train them.  I have to say, training a big muscle-y dude is pretty intimidating.  I'll be putting together my own training sessions, and will try my hardest to kick all of their butts for 45 minutes.  Today I'm packing my angry eyes and Jillian attitude, and hopefully I survive my first session this afternoon.  If all goes well, I will begin training 2-3 nights a week and start making some money money, yo.  Wish me luck!  It's going to be tough to handle two jobs, school, Yody, and my sanity, but I can do it.  I can.  Plus, school is only for about two more months.  I can do anything for two months.

  • The weather this week has been amazing.  I pulled a high school move yesterday and skipped class for no reason other than I wanted to sit outside.  And I did.  And I don't regret it.  Life is too short to sit in school, and if I fail for skipping and enjoying a beautiful day, so be it.

That's how I feel about that.

  • Jody's mom and sister have set some dates to come and visit us towards the end of April, and there are rumors of my mom and sisters taking some time to come out as well.  I can. not. wait.  I have so many fun ideas and plans for my visitors, and I simply can't wait to see some familiar faces.  I'm anticipating delicious weather and some serious beach time.  Hell yeah!
  • Ma Sky sent me some of our favorite recipes a while back, and last night I made a few of her tastey's for dinner.  Here's the recipe for her Almond Tea Concentrate, which was my treat after dinner.  It's delish, you should make it.
Almond Tea Concentrate

2 Cups boiling water
1 1/2 Cups sugar
1/2 tsp Almond Extract
2 Tea bags
2 tsp Vanilla
juice and pulp of 2 fresh lemons

Steep tea in water 15 minutes.  Add remaining ingredients.  Make a concentrate, and keep in refrigerator.
Use 1/4 C concentrate and add boiling water to drink.

Thanks, Ma!

Have a happy weekend, everyone!

You are sooo cute, with those angry eyes. I know that you can use them, I have seen it. I can't wait for you to train me. ha ha! I am glad you have the nice weather, we had a teaser of spring on Wed. and then cold again. I was in a better mood on Wed,but I did have the day off and had lunch with friends, and visited my favorite teacher in her classroom. Love to you and I am excited about visiting you.

That video is priceless. The dance looks like something the Schuyler girls should learn for future weddings, parties, bar mitzvahs, etc. We would be a hit! I love love love mom's almond tea. Soooo tasty. What are your thoughts on substituting Splenda for the sugar? Are you anti-fake sweeteners? Good luck with your training, lady! You will kill it!
