Breakfast of Champs

Black coffee and chocolate covered espresso beans in bed,

one day closer to wrapping up this deployment,

and we find a happy, happy K.

Our first ten hour day on the road landed us in

Sioux Falls, SD.

We arrived at around 1:00 am this morning, and because poor Chris has to work today, I get to lay in a hotel bed and watch the Today show with a pile of trail mix and hot cup of coffee.
For hours.

I obviously feel really, really bad...

:)

While it was definitely a long drive yesterday, it went great.  Chris cruised the whole way here, and I sat in the passenger seat and knitted the hours away.  I'm probably already a quarter of the way through my blanket project, and have discovered knitting to be a great way to avoid homework assignments and keep my hands busy.
(Just what I was looking for:  Another excuse to not do my homework!)

Anyway, here's the report:

We're headed all the way to Chicago this afternoon, and have decided that enduring another long ride late into the night will be worth taking a 'zero' on Wednesday to explore Chicago, as I've never been there before, and I'll be visiting with an expert.

Our plan is still to arrive in Hampton by Saturday evening, but are going to take a quick detour to visit Chris's Aunt in Virginia before we arrive.

So that's that.

Happy Day!
